Spotlight On: ARC User Flows

When customers visit your site, they often don’t just go to individual pages but instead go through multiple steps on multiple pages. With ARC User Flows, you can do an automated scan of a series of pages, components, or elements. Unlike traditional website scanning, user flows extend your scanning into interactive widgets and content. No other system delivers sequential component testing!

Using the “Text” Role

Note: this article is part of a series of free ARC KnowledgeBase database techniques.
Developers proposed role="text" for inclusion in ARIA to convey a non-text element’s textual content without exposing its role. But, for example, using it in a paragraph that contains a link will remove the semantics of the link. Now, VoiceOver for iOS will not announce the link as a link. The risk of role="text" is that it overrides the implicit role of any element it’s used for and will override the roles of any inner elements. Learn more about role="text" and why we don’t encourage using it.
